- Registration
- Vehicle owner (if different)
- Their insurer
- Witness name and phone
- Police event number
- Time and location
After the first half hour
- Injuries are handled through the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), separately from damage to the car.
- Damage to the car is claimed through your own insurer or, if another driver was responsible, possibly through theirs.
- Check your policy for how soon you need to tell your insurer about the accident.
- Keep the photos, notes, the other driver's details and any towing paperwork together.
When you're ready, you can start an accident enquiry and attach your photos. An enquiry doesn't commit you to anything.
